“Take two and two together, do the math! ”
この“math”は、“mathematics”「数学；計算」を省略したものなので、“Do the math.”を直訳すると、「（自分で）計算をしなさい」という意味です。
「少し考えれば、その状況について理にかなった結論を出せるはずだ」という意味合いで用いられるようになり、「自分で考えなさい」「考えればわかるでしょ」「後は自分で考えてよ」などという意味です。
“You do the math.”と言うことも使えます。
“Do you think we can make it in time?”
「間に合うと思う？」
“Well, it’s almost five o’clock. Do the math.”
「もうすぐ5時でしょ。後は考えればわかるでしょ。」
