“Don’t blame me for that, it was….”
“blame A for B”＝“blame B on A”で、「A（人）をBのことで責める、BをA（人）のせいにする」
という説明ならわかりやすいかも、“Don’t blame me.”で、「人のせいにするな」「私のせいにしないで」「私に言わないでくれ」という意味になりますね。
また、“A is to blame (for B).”で、「（Bは）Aのせいだ」という意味になります。
“He is to blame.” 「彼のせいだ」「彼が悪いのだ」“I am to blame.” 「私のせいだ」「私が悪いのだ」“It’s my fault.” 「それは私のせいです」と、同様の意味です。
また、“I don’t blame you.”で、「私はあなたを責めないよ」ということから、「無理もないよ」「（君のしたことは間違っていない）それでよかったんだよ」という意味です。
“When I got home, the door was unlocked.”
「僕が家に帰ったときに、ドアに鍵がかかってなかったぞ」
“Don’t blame me. I locked the door when I leave.”
「私のせいにしないで。出かけるときに、ドアに鍵をかけたわ」
