“Oh, honey, that’s music to my ears.”
“music to one’s ears”には、「（耳に）とても快いもの」という意味ですが、“That’s music to my ears.”を直訳すると、「それは私の耳に快いものだ」という意味になり、そこから、「いい響きだね」、「それはすばらしいね」または「それはうれしいね」などという意味です。
良い知らせなどを聞いて喜ぶときに用いられる表現で使う場合が多い。
“I got a promotion at work today.”
「今日、昇進したよ」
“Oh, honey, that’s music to my ears.”
「まあ、あなた、それはすばらしいわね」
