“Let’s bottoms up!“
“Bottoms up!”には、
「一気に飲み干せ！」「さあ、乾杯！」「飲み干したまえ」「さあ、ぐいと一杯！」という意味です。
「持っている杯の底を持ち上げて飲み干そう」ということから、このような意味になったと言われています。
このほかに、乾杯の発声として、“Toast!”「乾杯！」“Cheers!”「(健康を祝して)乾杯！」“Here’s to you [your future] !”「君のために [君の前途を祝して] 乾杯！」“To our happiness!”「(我らの幸福のために)乾杯！」“Your (good) health!”「健康を祝って乾杯！」などがあります。
