“I don’t know if I can do it, but I’ll give it a try.”
名詞の“try”には、「試し、試み」という意味です。“I’ll give it a try.”で、「やってみるよ」、「試しにやってみよう」または「試してみるよ」などという意味です。
“give it a shot”や、“give it a go”も、“give it a try”と同じような意味になるので、“I’ll give it a shot.”“I’ll give it a go.”で、「やってみるよ」とか「試してみるよ」という意味でも使えます。
どんな結果になるか分からないけれど、いい結果になることを目指して、試しにやってみようという場合に用いられる表現です。
