When you say that, it feels like I’am in the dark
“in the dark about ～”には「～に無知で、～を知らないで、」という意味になります。
ので、“I’m in the dark.”を直訳すると、「私は暗がりの中にいる」という意味になりますが、そこから、「暗がりの中」＝「何も知らない、何も分からない」ということになり、「何も知らないよ」「全然分からないよ」という意味です。
“I’m sorry, I’m in the dark. Can you explain that?”
「ごめん、全然分からないよ。説明してもらえる？」
