“shake on it”を直訳すると、「それについて握手する」という意味になり、そこから、「同意して握手する、仲直りして握手する」という意味です。
ですから、“Let’s shake on it.”と言うと、「同意して握手しよう」ということから、
「商談成立だ」、「それで話は決まりだ」または「それで手を打とう」などという意味です。
以前に学習した“It’s a deal.”「それで決まりだ」とか「取引成立だ」という表現も使えます。
“That’s a good idea. Let’s do that.”
「それはいいね。そうしよう」
“Okay, let’s shake on it.”
「よし、それで話は決まりだ」
