“No, not even close.“
“Not even close.”という表現は、「近づいてすらいない」、つまり、「かけ離れている」ということから、「大はずれだよ」、「全然違うよ」とか「全然ダメだ」などという意味になりますが、“That’s not even close to the point.”「要点・核心に、ほど遠い」や“It’s not even close to the truth.”「真実には、ほど遠い」などの表現が省略されたものと考えられます。
“Do you think I look like Brad Pitt when I don’t shave?”
「僕、髭を剃っていないと、ブラッド・ピットみたいに見えるかな？」
“No, not even close.”
「いや、全然違うよ」
