“That’s a tall order, but I’ll do my best.”
“tall”には、「高い、背の高い」という意味のほかに、「（数量が）大きい、法外な」などという意味ですが、“That’s a tall order.”を直訳すると、「それは法外な注文だ」という意味になり、そこから、「それは大変な要求だ」、「それは無理な注文だ」または「それは困難な仕事だ」
などという意味です。“It’s a tall order.”と言うことも使われます。
“That’s a tall order, but I’ll do my best.”
