“The bottom line is that I’m not interested in joining you”
“the bottom line”は、元々「（決算表の）最終行」つまり「（最終的な）損益」という意味ですが、
「最重要事項、要点」という意味合にも使えます。“The bottom line is …”と言うと、
「要は・・・だ」、「肝心なのは・・・だ」または「結論は・・・だ」などという意味になります。
この“The bottom line is …”の後ろには、that節が続くことが多い。
「あ～だ、こ～だ」と、いろいろと言った後で、「まぁ、（細かいことは）いろいろとあるけれども、要するに、一番重要な点は・・・ということだ」という感じで用いられる表現ですね。
“The bottom line is that we have to finish this by Friday.”
「肝心なのは、これを金曜日までに終わらせなければならないということだ。」
