“Let me see. Will this do?”
“will do”で、「適する、間に合う、十分である、役に立つ、ちょうどよい」という意味になるので、“Will this do?”で、「これで間に合う？」、「これでいい？」または「これで役に立つ？」という意味です。
例えば、「はさみを貸して」と言われて、はさみを探してみたけれど、カッターしか見つからなかった場合に、“Will this do?”「これで間に合う？」とか「これでいい？」と尋ねることです。
“Will this do?”「これで間に合う？」または「これでいい？」と聞かれて、“That’ll do.”と言うと、「それでいいよ」、「それで十分です」または「それで結構です」という意味になります。
“Do you have an extra folder?”
「余分な紙ばさみはあるかな？」
“Let me see. Will this do?”
「ちょっと待ってね。これでいい？」
