“You’re telling me.”
“You’re telling me.”は、相手の言ったことに対する同意を表して、「全くその通りだ」「全く同感だ」という意味です。
また、“You’re telling me!”の“me”を強く発音すると、「そんなことは百も承知だ！」または「そんなこと言われなくても分かってるよ！」という意味にもあります。
同様の意味で、“You can say that again.”「本当にそうだね」、「確かにその通りだ」、「全く同感だ」“Tell me about it.”「その通りだね」、「本当にそうだね」または「そんなこと知ってるよ」などという表現も使えます。
“That concert was really amazing.”
「あのコンサートは本当にすばらしかったね」
“You’re telling me.”
「全くその通りだね」
“That was an awful thing to say. I think you should apologize to her.”
「それはひどいことを言ったね。彼女に謝った方がいいと思うよ」
“You’re telling me!”
「そんなこと言われなくても分かってるよ！」
