“Those are the rules. Get the picture?“
“Get the picture?”と聞くと、「絵（写真）を手に入れたか？」という意味だと思ってしまうかもしれませんが、文字通り、そういった意味で用いる場合もあります。
“picture”と言うと、まず「絵；写真」という意味が思い浮かぶかもしれませんが、“the picture”には、「（全体の）状況、事態（situation）」という意味も使われています。
“get the picture”という表現は、「全体の状況を手に入れる」⇒「わかる、（状況・事態を）理解する」などという意味になります。
疑問文で、“Get the picture?”と言うと、「理解できた？」または「わかった？」などという意味になりますが、相手に、どういう状況か理解できたかと尋ねる表現になります。
また、省略せずに、“Do you get the picture?”と言うこともあります。そして、“I get the picture.”と言うと、「理解できたよ」または「わかったよ」という意味になります。
“Those are the rules. Get the picture?”
「それが規則だ。わかった？」
“I get it.”
「わかったよ。」
