”Make something new, surprise me”
“Surprise me.”を直訳すると、「私を驚かせて」という意味になりますが、これは、例えば、「何を食べたい？」とか、「どこに行きたい？」などと聞かれたときに、「私が驚くようなものを持ってきて」とか、「私が驚くような所へ連れて行って」というところから、「あなたにお任せするわ」とか「お任せするよ」という意味になります。
“Why don’t you surprise me?”や、“You can surprise me.”と言うこともありますね。
“What would you like to eat?”
「何を食べたい？」
“Surprise me.”
「お任せするよ。」
